SUDAIR SOLAR POWER PLANT Country: Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Location: Riyadh region Investment cost: $920 million Total production capacity: 1500 MW Project status: In operation and construction The station is located in Sudair Industrial City, 150 kilometers from the city of Riyadh, and it is considered one of the largest solar energy stations in the world. This project is being implemented by an alliance between ACWA Power and the Water and Electricity Holding Company “Badil”.

Commercial operation of the first phase of the project began in September 2023. When constructed and operated, the station will supply 160,000 homes and will contribute to reducing 2.4 million tons of carbon emissions.

The Emirates Water and Electricity Company is responsible for implementing the project, and the project is now in the stage of technical and financial analysis of the offers submitted by companies wishing to develop the project. The developer will have 40% of the project shares, and 60% of the project share will go to the UAE government. 6.
